Problem with source code showing instead of formatted code

Problem with uploading images

I am having trouble uploading images using the HTML Editor. I have created an "uploads" directory on the server and set it to the proper permissions. The global file upload setting is set to everyone. When I upload the image, the dialog box says that the image was uploaded successfully, but it is not. I don't use security assist. Is there something else I need to do to upload images/
Thanks.
