how can i set the first option as the default selection on page load

i need to have the first option of every primary list/menu be the default option upon page load. and i need it to populate the 2ndary (dependent) list as well based on whatever that first option is.

can this be done?
right now it shows as blank and the user MUST select an item from the first menu which will then populate the 2nd menu.

how can i set the default of the first menu to be the first item. and then have it in turn populate the 2nd menu based on that item. All on page load.

One of the behaviors that Dynamic DropDowns includes is the set Selected in list behavior.

To control the initial loading state of a page, you can add behaviors to the Onload event of the body tag.

Add the Set Selected in list behavior to the onload event to set the parent list, then add a Populate List From Array behavior to the onload event to populate the child list and end with a set selected in list to set the selected item in the child list.
