Cannot add Date Picker/Captcha to a page based on a template

Every time I try to use Form Toolkit on a page that's based on a Dreamweaver template I get the 'Making this change would require changing code that is locked by a template or a translator' error message, even though codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked is set to false in my template.

I use templates for all of my sites so if anyone can help me get round this problem that would be very much appreciated.

I have the same problem when trying to add datepicker to any dataassist pages

The error you are getting is a common one when working with templates in Dreamweaver.


There is no solid fix for the issue, but I have discovered a workaround. See the following thread for details:

Maybe better working it through framework instead of standard templates so it doesn't occur.

Yes I got it working when using the form as a plug-in with Framework Builder. Works quite nicely that way actually.
