Gmail put UE mail in spam folder

Hi,

I have an email form, that sends a formatted email to the specified email address.

Now, I have sent an email to two different Gmail accounts, and both put the mail in the spam folder. The spam setting is not overly high. Also, all CSS information is lost.

Is there anything I can do about it?

there are a number of reasons the email may be treated as spam:

If the from and the to address are the same

If the from address is not a valid email address

sometimes using sales@domain.com or support@domain.com may trigger the email to be treated as spam.

does the header of the message include any info on why its regarded as spam, this would help us determine how to fix the issue, but without knowing why gmail thinks its spam, it's a bit like finding a needle in hay stack.

Hi Jason,

The from and the to address are not the same, and the from address is valid.

The return address is info@ourdomain.com. Would that trigger the email to be treated as spam?

I looked at the header, and there was a lot of gibberish. I noticed this though "ouraccount@ourprovider.net does not designate permitted sender hosts". Maybe you could say more about the header info, if I forwarded it to you.

I ran some more test:

- Both gmail and yahoo mail will put the mail into the spam folder.
- I removed all links and images, basically left only one sentence, and it would still go in the spam folder.
- and most troublesome, our order confirmation mail also goes right into the spam folder

I also talked to our internet provider and he said, that yahoo and gmail may block html mail altogether. But they have clients on the same server as ours, that successfully send newsletters, because their newsletters come in html and text. Does WebAssist offer a solution, where a text mail is offered, if html mail is refused?
