Verify one field to another

Verify one field to another

What I'm trying to accomplish is when someone fills out their e-mail address in the form on my site, I want them to fill out their e-mail address again and have it verify against the previous form field. I get a few form e-mails where people have filled out their e-mail address incorrectly. Is this a function in CSS Form Builder that I'm missing?

the wizard will not do this for you, but if you add two email address form elements to the form, you can change this after the form is created.

Once you have created the form, go to the server behaviors panel and double click the Server Validations server behavior. Select the Like entry validation type. Click the lightning bolt next to server variable and select the first email address form element. then click the plus button to add it to the list of validations. This will prompt you to select the comparison, click the lightning bolt again and select the second email address form element.

Matching emails

Hi, I am following your instructions but can't get the message "emails must match" to appear. The form will not go through if the emails are mismatched but how is the user going to know what's wrong if he sees no err msg? Thanks!

Once you have added the Server Side Validation, you will need to use the Show If Sever Behavior.

The following link include a tutorial on how to accomplish a similar validation with an error message:

Validation tutorial unclear

In the Add the Show If Behavior section step 1.

1.Next to the text field enter Your entry was invalid.
This will be the error message that appears and can be whatever you would like.

What text field is it refering to and where is it?
