Paypal Direct + AMEX - error

Thread began 11/16/2010 10:12 am by dan361748 | Last modified 11/16/2010 10:23 am by dan361748 | 896 views | 1 replies |

Paypal Direct + AMEX - error

We have recently switched from a sandbox to live paypal direct for our e-cart.

The first transaction posted was with an AMEX card. Our currency for the cart is in CAD, although I don't think that would matter.

When the user tried to confirm their checkout they received the following error on our checkout_failed.php page:

Your processor is unable to process the Card Type in the currency requested. Please try another card.

Is this a problem with our cart or paypal? Anyone seen this before? I thought maybe the form wasn't relaying the proper cc_type info, but it appears correct:

<option value="Amex" <?php if (!(strcmp("Amex", $_SESSION["eCartCheckoutForm_cc_type"]))) {echo "selected=\"selected\"";} ?>>American Express</option>

Any help would be appreciated!

Doh. Apparently:

Amex and Discover aren't accepted by PayPal Website Payments Pro in Canada.

That stinks.
