..code that is locked by a template or translator. Error?

Hi,

When I try to insert Client Validation on an ASP page I get his error at the end of the process:

"Making this change would require changing code that is locked by a template or a translator. The change will be discarded."

I can't add validation anymore because of this. :o(
Apart from one or two SSI's, which are unrelated to the form, there is no template or translator on the page, as far as I'm aware.

If I keep clicking "OK" to this error, it starts adding the validation field by field, but when I try to submit the form it doesn't run the validation.

Any ideas why this might be happening?

Here's a link to the page in question:
form-to-email-contact-form.asp

Thanks.
Nath.

this is a very common error when dealing with templates.

Templates?

As previously stated though Jason, I'm not using a template.

can you send a copy of the page so i can look at the code? Dreamweaver thinks it;s a template for some reason, i would need to see the code to have an idea of why.

how?

How would I get that file to you Jason? The attachment option won't allow ASP files.

compress the asp file into a zip archive and attach the zip archive to your post.

That's happening with another website too now (this time PHP):

I've attached the PHP file for your analysis. Thanks again.

I dont see any thing in these 2 files to cause this error.

I do see that both files use include files, do any of the include files have template data on them?

have you tried deleting the Dreamweaver cache file from the users configuration folder:

None of the include files have template data, no. To be honest, I've never used Dreamweaver templates period.

The include files simply have, for example, Google Analytics code, or a CSS Menu Writer menu, or a simple footer (text and links).

I've deleted the Dreamweaver cache file, and restarted, but still no joy. Do you think uninstalling / reinstalling the Validation Toolkit extension would solve it?

Like you, I can't see why this error would be appearing.

I'm using Dreamweaver 8. Would that be the problem? Thing is, I haven't changed anything recently and Validation Toolkit was working fine.

It's all a bit odd really.
