Shipping questions

Shipping questions

Can custom shipping levels be added: (Without Dreamweaver)

Under $25 = $5 Shipping
$25 $50 = $10 Shipping
And so on...

Instead of using USPS or other services?

Also... In the checkout page, we want to limit online orders to only in USA. International shipping needs to call in orders. Can this be done through the website or authorize.net?

No, power store does not allow for price range based shipping.
You can set a specific shipping charge on the item level when adding an item to the cart, or you can set a broader per item change in the shipping settings, but you will need to use eCart to set a subtotal range based shipping charge.

You can edit the checkout form to only include US in the shipping and billing country and add a message to call if your country is out side the US.

Next Step

I have an older version of e-cart... eCart 4. Would this work? Can you give me a quick rundown on the simplest way to do this?

What page do I need to edit?
What bindings should I look for?
Changes that I need to make?

Thanks for your help!

yes, you could edit the shipping rules with eCart.

First, make sure the powerstore files are at the root of the Dreamweaver site.

then open the cart page and go to Insert -> WebAssist -> eCart -> eCart Object. In the object panel, click the edit button, then go to the shipping tab.

Create a new shipping rule for each price break, for example:

Under 25:

Triggers:
Taxable Total For the cart:
if the taxable tatla for the cart is "<" a value of "25"

calculation:
Flat rate of 5

No go...

I was able to open the eCart option and add the new shipping levels. But after I saved and synced the new files to the server, the shipping does not show up in the cart.

Does something else have to be done?

Note: I left the UPS, USPS and other shipping rules and added the new ones behind it. Not sure if these need to be removed.

Thanks again for your help!

send a copy of the WA_eCart/WA_Store_Cart_PHP.php file so i can see how the shipping rules are configured.

A link would also be helpful.

your new shipping rule is not set right.

The only new shipping rule i see i "Product Shipping" which is set as triggers: More than 1 item in the cart. Calculation: Total of shipping + 0.

You need to create the rules as I originaly outlined:
Under 25:

Triggers:
Taxable Total For the cart:
if the taxable tatla for the cart is "<" a value of "25"

calculation:
Flat rate of 5

for the first one.

For the second one:
25 - 50:

Triggers:
Taxable Total For the cart:
if the taxable total for the cart is ">=" a value of "25"

AND
Taxable Total For the cart:
if the taxable total for the cart is "<" a value of "50"

calculation:
Flat rate of 10

etc...

Hmm...

I did go through and do this, I will double check.

When I made changes (added the rules) and clicked ok... Do I have to do anything else to save the changes?

No, clicking ok will save the changes unless the eCart include file is opened in Dreamweaver or is set to be read only.
