Prevent end user from adding new region

Hi,

Just looking and the PowerCMS, I have written several of my own basic CMS in the past but like the simplicity of your product.

One question
How would i prevent the end user from adding a new region to the page. At the end of the day I want a secure robust system that pretty much just gives the user tools they can use without having to rely on us as developers to add addditional code.

So i guess the question is can the insert region be turned off or disabled to prevent a person from adding new regions. After all it's whats the point in having this feature if 99% of my clients don't have access to the page code to add the snippets. Isn't that giving them only half a solution as they still need the developer to add additional code everytime they add a region. Better off not giving them the Insert option but rather pre-define the regions in development.

Cheers. (I'm not trying to sound negative if that's the way it comes across)

Just open up the page in DW and delete the insert page links.

You could also delete the insert page entirely once you are done with it.

Thanks I realised that after i purchased the PowerCMS, Any ideas why the validator does not work, i have to remove the validate triggers before i can insert new records. Also the Upload file option only uploads images to the root specified, Quite a few bugs in this first version.

I would be interested in investingating these issues. Many people are using it without reporting problems so there might be a small configuration problem that can fix the issues you are having.

What exactly are the issues. Do you have a sample URL where I can experience the problems you describe? If I can reproduce them I can usually determine the cause and solution.

Hi.

The validation error has been fixed as i mentioned in my other post, but i still have an issue with the Upload Tab in the CMS. If I click Browse Server and upload a image file it places it in the correct directories. BUT if i use the Upload Tab to upload an image to the server it places the image in the root directory. Not a good look!

I can supply you with a link to the CMS if required.

Oh just for the record also if you add an apostrophe to the Content Area field such as What's New it will save OK but the page that has the code embedded will throw an error. Only a minor bug but I can see many of my client's doing this.

What is the error that is thrown on the page displaying the parenthasis?

Please post a support incident about the first issue... they will be able to tell you where to set the upload folder to go to the correct place.
