Getting Started

I just purchased Security Assist as I'd like to password protect a certain page in my site.
But every time I click on any of the pdf's such as the getting started guide it keeps coming up blank. This is the second day in a row that I've tried so I can't even get myself started.
It's been downloaded and installed correctly, however, when I go to establish a connection with my database it continues to fail.
I enter all of my database info correctly and when I go to select a database it says that an unexpected error has occurred. Am I forgetting a step?

are you trying to connect to a local mysql server or a remote mysql server.

Many times, outside connections are not allowed by the remote server. it is recommended to install a local testing server for development purposes.

see our learning resources page for details on setting up a local testing server, configuring your Dreamweaver site for dynamic development and setting up a database connection.

for the issue you are having opening pdf documents, try right clicking the pdf link and saving it to your desktop, then opening the saved pdf.
