Database Structure

If you are creating a store from scratch is there a minimum structure for the database - if so what tables with what fields - do you have to use the structure from your examples?

Take a look at the sample databases w/eCart or database starter kits. Otherwise I think this gives a good bit of information:

No database is necessary at all. So the minimum structure would be no database at all.
