User Registration

My UR is not working on the email verification step. I try with changing the mail server on WA_Globals to "localhost" to " " to mail.domainname.ws but none is getting this to work. No email after new registration.

Is there someone that has this solution working on (hosting company) IX-Webhosting?

I use IX

Hello skerett,

I use IXwebhosting and have used the UR solution pack successfully quite a few times.

The only solution I can think of is that you need to put your server information for all of the lines (verification, registration, and password email settings). Oh, and the .ws ending is not something I am familiar with but that doesn't look right. You may need to post a ticket.

Your Email Server should be something like: mail.yoursitename.com
Your Root_URL should be: www.yoursitename.com/
Your Email_From (on all three email settings) should be: webmaster@yoursitename.com

Follow up

Just to clarify:
My email server is mail.eprod.ws
Ther root url is www.eprod.ws (registered domain name)
My Email_From (on all three email settings) is webmaster@eprod.ws

Now one detail here is that I'm using a windows server on the hosting account. Is this relevant? Your work fine. Are you using a windows server too?

Actually

Mine is not working fine either since I have upgraded to the latest version. Especially if someone registers using a yahoo.com account.

I am on a Linux host (I have had far less problems than I did with Windows).

Also, this may not matter, but try putting in a / (forward slash) so your root reads as:

www.eprod.ws/

I am awaiting a reply on another thread here, but if that fails I am going to try uninstalling and reinstalling the entire product. Sometimes that helps too.

Good luck Skerett!

Reinstalling - to experiment

Hi Jon,

Just to save time wasted pulling my hair, I'm going to reinstall during the week to see if some code was not crossing the unknown here in my files. I'm supecting I may be causing this problem by the way I'm trying to test this UR.

I have UR copies inside my domain on the hosting server as:

1. userregistration/ (for testing a get famliar with UR)

2. rc/ (UR pages inside my personal web site)

3. wc/ (UR for wakefield coop web site inside wc folder)

Each connected to diferent MySQL DB "There should be no conflict here."
I'll keep you posted...

Well, well, well UR

After reinstralling (remote Windows server on hosting Co.) I see that issues continue. Is best for me to not get frustrated with this anymore until some one can tells me what hosting company can run this UR pages. If it's PHP I'm not going to bother to try another product unless there is some clue that the product is going to work fine the first time.
