Accidentally deleted Home Page Message

Accidentally deleted Home Page Message

Well, I finally got PowerStore installed (thank you forum for your help!)

Now, I've already created a stupid problem for myself. In attempting to delete the generic text in the Home Page Message area, and failing to make a graphic work in the area, I accidentally deleted the entire Home Page Message area. Now I have a huge piece of blue real estate with no text and no way to get content into that area. (the blue background for that huge area didn't go away, just the controls that let me put content in the area).

How on earth do I get back the edit feature for the Home Page Message?

Thanks!

Connie

Use the history button

Hi: Connie
I think you can go into the contemt area of the admin page click on home page content and use the history button on the top right, to go back to before you deleated it.
Hope this helps

You will need to recreate the Site Message content area for the Home Page.

I tried that ...

I tried creating a new content area and naming exactly what the original was, and although it did create a new content area, it did NOT assign it to the big empty blue box where the message was that I accidentally deleted.

when you view the developer note for the new content area, what is the code?

Developer note?

I have no idea where to find a developer note.

(I did find my username and was able to log in tonight, but if I can't figure out how to put text back in that big blue area, I'm going to have to reinstall.)

The area that i accidentally deleted is Home Page -- Info. I recreated a new version, but it doesn't show up in the big blue swirly box.

There is no info content area on the home page.

The big blue area of the home is named "Site Message"

Create a new Content Area for the home page named "Site Message"

right next to the edit link for any of the content areas is a link that says "Developer Notes". this will show the code used to display that content artea on the page.

On my PS4 install, the Site Message content area code is:

php:
<?php echo WA_getCMSContent($database_PowerStoreConnection$PowerStoreConnection'Home Page''Site Message'false);

?>

This shows the content page, and the Content area name.

I have PS3 not PS4

I think this may be the problem with me never having seen "Developer Notes". My version is PowerStore 3, not 4

In PowerStore 3, there is a view link next to the edit link, this will display the content area and show the developer notes at the bottom.

The Content is still named "Site Message" in PS3 though.

I just reinstalled

Thanks, Jason. I got sick of messing with it and just reinstalled PowerStore 3 in a new database. Now I am having a whole different set of problems, which I will detail in another thread.

I truly, truly appreciate your help, but I am seriously regretting the money I spent on what I had hoped would be a valuable resource for my web clients!
