Problem loading PHP in Windows 7

Thread began 10/17/2010 4:56 am by chris334786 | Last modified 10/18/2010 12:46 pm by Rune Brynestad | 696 views | 2 replies |

Problem loading PHP in Windows 7

Purchased Power Gallery and following instructions in web_dev_begin.pdf - Configuring IIS for Vista (I have Windows 7, don't know if different). When I enter details in instruction 4 on page 9 of the PDF and click OK, I get an error message - see attached jpeg. This is my first attempt to get PHP running on my machine. Any assistance would be appreciated, Chris

Go to Control Panel -> Programs and features.
Click the link for Turn Windows Features On or Off.
Expand Internet Information Services
Expand World Wide Web Services
Expand Application Development Features.
make sure all options are checked, especially ISAPI Extensions and ISAPI Filters.

to be honest, i have never been able to get php working with IIS in Windows 7. After spending 2 weeks trying to get it working unsuccessfully, I opted to install WAMP and had it working in 5 minutes, including the time to download it.

See the tutorials on the learning resources page for installing a php testing server.

An easy way to get PHP to work under IIS in Windows 7 is to install it through the Microsoft Web platform installer interface. The setup is just point and click. You can download it from here:
