Slow site performance

Hello,

I have been trying to setup my power store and it has slowly been getting VERY SLOW, to the point where I get this error : "MySQL server has gone away."

Any ideas???

Was it an upgrade from PS3? or a new install of PS4?

Try adding an index to the product options table. Open the PS Database in PHPMyAdmin and run the following SQL command:

ALTER TABLE ps4_productoptions ADD INDEX (ProductID)

if it was an upgrade from PS3, then add an index to the proctcategories table to:

ALTER TABLE ps4_productcategories ADD INDEX (ProductID)

This was a fresh install and i tried the command but didn't help. It is still very slow but only after I try to edit the products in admin. Navigating the site otherwise is fine, but as soon as I get into that admin area... nothing works :/
