Product Options - Guide errors?

I've been trying to build a cart for the last 2 days & just can't get it to work. I've been following the guides & there are some things that don't add up

For example, in the Product Options guide, item 4. Create Add to Cart button tells me to choose Select List & in the image displays colorLookup as a binding, when the first Lookup function isn't built until the next step (5) & there is no colorLookup in any case.

The "Populate the Select Lists" section always seems to create 2 select list boxes on my product page! If I try to work with the auto generated field, I get a message saying there's already a dynamic value being used. So the only answer is to have 2 boxes for each option! Plus, for additional options fields, despite copying the exact steps again, only one product option brings any values through, everything else is blank.

I have to add a shopping cart to this website & I'm spending all my time trying to get this to work, without any success......I've gone back to the start & tried again, but the same things keep happening.

There should not be any binding for the color select list.

Do not bind the default value for the color select list to any thing. leave it blank.

Setting a binding for the default value is causing the additional issues you are having.

leave the default value blank, this will allow you to edit the properties of the select list that is created without having to create a second one.
