PowerStore 4 Office Guide Setting Up Testing Server

Is there an official guide for setting up PowerStore 4 on a testing server before going live?

setting up on a testing server is the same process as setting up on a live server.

The testing set up should really only be used to test the functionality, you should not be entering any live product information on the testing server, all of the product information, CMS Content and galleries should be added to the live installation.

Hi Ray.

I am asking because I may want to add free shipping on specific products or specific customers. On another post you said it could be done with the setting of a variable... and some other mods. I would have to test this on the test server right?

yes, that is correct.

What i am getting at though, is that the installation on a testing server is the same as installing on a live server.

or are you asking for documentation on installing the testing server itself?

The learning resources page has details on installing a testing server:
resources.php

Hi Ray,

I do need to add some products, categories, sub-categories, and customers in order to test on the testing server to verify functionality after the mods.

My testing server is already setup.

I think you have answered my question which is that I can make mods on the testing server then test it before uploading to the live server.

yes that is correct, you can make mods and test locally then upload.
