Coupons as Gift Cards

Before I jump into this on my own can anyone offer any insight into how best to offer for sale coupons as gift cards in PS3?

This is not supported in PowerStore.

you would need to Create a way to associate the coupon to the user.

you would also need to create a way to deduct the unused portion of the coupon if they do not make a purchase grater then the coupon amount.

also, you need to modify the checkout so that it only goes through the gateway if the coupon discount is less the cart total.

Jason thanks and another question.

In this post
showthread.php?t=8606&highlight=coupons
starting with this entry "Connecting PowerStore to rewards card database" you lay out what sounds a lot like a coupon as gift card.
Am I reading that correctly or am I missing something?
Could you please lay it out A to Z - as a tutorial perhaps.

Would be much appreciated
Mick

No, the thread you are pointing to is not for using a gift cart type of coupon.

It is a general coupon code system.

Power store does not support a Gift Card type of system, you would need to create this manually, we do not have step by step instructions on how to accomplish this, it is not supported functionality.
