Zero Cost Digital Download

Hi All

I am using PS4 Solution and so far so good. One reason we upgraded was for the digital download feature.

My client wants to have some products for free as a downloadable file, but this fails at paypal as the value is zero.

Can paypal be skipped if the checkout is zero value, taking into account the basket may contain a payable product aswell as the free one?

I look forward to ideas.

on the webassist/plugins/shopping_cart/process_transaction.php page, find the following line:

php:
<?php
// if in test mode, skip all checkout code
if ($WAGLOBAL_Test_Mode != true) {
?>

and change it to:

php:
<?php
// if in test mode, skip all checkout code
if ($WA_Store_Cart->GrandTotal() == 0$WAGLOBAL_Test_Mode true;
if (
$WAGLOBAL_Test_Mode != true) {
?>

Can you confirm that this would still work if the cart had a free download and a payable product? would paypal ipn still update the db and allow download of both the paid and free one?

yes, this code is just setting the site to test mode if the cart grand total is 0. otherwise, the site is still in live mode.

PayPal: Amount must be greater than zero?

I would like to add an ebook section to the site and give away 1 ebook for free.
I came across a post by (info405361) which is pretty much exact to the issue I am having, I added the code as stated however, when I am finishing up with checkout on the Paypal page it replies with: "Please enter an amount greater than zero"

Did I miss something somewhere else?

This will not work with PayPal Standard. Using the PayPal standard payment gateway, you will not be able to accomplish this.

Ok, so I cannot give away digital goods with PayPal Standard account...
Will it be possible to instead "SELL" digital goods with a PayPal Standard account?

yes, you will be able to sell digital goods using Paypal Standard.
