Upgrading from PS3 to PS4

Hi,

I just read about PS4. I really like all the new features and appreciate the fact that WA really took a lot of our suggestions to heart in developing this upgrade.

That said, it took me 4 months to get PS3 up and running. Mostly problems with PayPal, Standard vs Pro.

I am just a bit hesitate to upgrade. We are entering the busy season for Internet ordering and do not want to be left with our pants down. So I was wondering, will upgrading wipe out PS3? Or, is there a way to have PS3 remain live as I get PS4 set up with both using the same database to test and make necessary changes, or, if necessary, fix bugs?

Next question, during the demo and feature tours I did not see an "up sale" feature added to PS4. Was this feature added? If not, will this feature be added with the next Upgrade?

One last thing, my client would like to know if it is possible to change the roll out of the next upgrade to a better time of year. Fall is the wrong time to be tinkering with an online store.

Powerstore 3 should continue to function when you install powerstore 4 using the same database.

However, it will import all of the data on installation, and won't be in sych after editing or taking orders in your powerstore 3 site. You would probably want to install into a different directory using the same database, then do your testing and design updates to get ready to go live. When you are ready to go live, then delete the /Connections/ and the /webassist/ folders as well as any tables with names that begin with "ps4".

Then you can install again and it will create a fresh copy of the database from the ps3 version.

We have not determined the final feature-set of the next version of powerstore. We appreciate all suggestions and will consider that option as we investigate potential additions.

I do appreciate the suggestion that we might want to time this product specifically for after the holidays, but on the flip side a lot of people are rushing right now to get sites up and the leaves haven't even turned yet.
