CMS data won't update

When updating an editable region all the words etc are added via the editing area but when update is applied it won't come thru to the site pages.

are you editing the template directly?

When editing the template, do not make your changes inside an editable region, those will not be applied to the pages, only changes outside the editable regions will be applied to the pages.

Site Sculptor

i am editing on-line (with the site uploaded) thru the cms editable regions. When i leave the site (log out etc.) then go back to the cms the content is still there but not showing on the live site.

In the admin section select the new content, then click the View This Page link along the top. Do you see the new content now?

If so, copy the entire address in the address bar and paste it into a text document.

Now try to view the page in the normal way, copy that address and past it into the text document on the next line for comparison. Is there any difference in the two addresses?

site sculptor add editable region

Hi Jason, thanks for your reply.. That problem has been fixed...
BUT NOW I HAVE A SERIOUS PROBLEM. I originally set the site for testing etc up as an "add on" site ie - mysite.com/mynewsite.com - and now it is finished and I set the dns to point to it and it goes to the home page ok but when I click on the links they are pointing to "mynewsite.com/contact.php/mynewsite.com/contact.php" etc. (A DOUBLE ADDRESS) and obviously go nowhere. Is there some way of fixing this in the css anywhere? PLEASE HELP! Cheers GT

you will need to edit the wa_settings table in the database and change the root url to use the new live url.

on line cms won't update live page

I had this problem before but solved it by reloading the whole site - but its back. I am editing on-line (with the site uploaded) thru the cms editable regions. All the editing in the "Currently editing: content" wysiwyg is fine - then click on update - back to the "Choose the content area you wish to edit below" page and it is updated there but when "view this page" is clicked for the live site it hasn't updated. I check the "history" and all the edits are there but it is just not going thru to the page. I tried clicking "view this page" link from both section of the CMS and the url is the same as the live site. Another strange thing is that so it seems to be only one page. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks GT
