PowerStore 3 Site Menus are VERY inconsistent

Hello,
I am extremely unhappy with the menu system on PowerStore 3. I can't imagine it gets any better on any of the other PowerStores. Can you determine what is happening with the menus on this store?

Just click on Products. Then one of the subcategories. Then just keep clicking on anything in there. Sometimes they show up. Sometimes they don't. Sometimes there is a random error by just clicking on the Products button. Sometimes not. Standard out of the box code.

index.php

Thanks,
Monica

I think where you have made your mistake is not to include All the categories and subcategories in the new product/product update section.
I've attached 2 screen shots from the categories section of my site that illustrate what I'm talking about.
Also when you add a new product that will have options you need to make sure to update all options that will be the same throughout that product and it's variations.
In my case I would not choose to "update all options" as regards quantity available for example.
Looking at your site I would venture to say that "Hawk Brake Pads: Genesis Coupe Brembo Brakes" does not include "Hyundai" or "Genesis Coupe 2.0t" as categories in the product update section.

Hi Mick,
Thanks for the feedback. I don't believe that what is happening is related to the categories. I have uploaded two screenshots, taken 30 seconds apart. Sometimes when you click on the menu the page shows up. Sometimes not. I call it the "Now you see it, now you don't" bug.

Would you have any recommendations where to look to begin troubleshooting this outside of the category listings?

**EDIT**
I also noticed that the content title is missing too. Like the page doesn't even load.

Thank you!
Cheers,
Monica

I could be wrong but I noticed similar inconsistency until I got all my categories in order.
I think you should check and see if what I said is the case and correct that first. If it does need to be fixed you can't be sure it's not at least part of the problem.

There does seem to be a problem in your files.... I got the error:

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'ANDProductID IN (SELECT ProductID FROM ps3_productcategories AND(CategoryID = 15' at line 1

which implies that somewhere there is text " AND" which should be " AND "... so it is missing a space. This appears to be the cause of the issue... most likely it is on the ProductLookup.php page, which is the page used with AJAX to load the category search results and the issue is probably repeated on the ProductsResults.php page as well.

I'll open a support incident so that we can work with you directly to find where the error occurs and add the missing space character, which appears to be the source of your problem.

Thanks Ray!

Thanks for the phone support Ray! I'm glad we were able to troubleshoot the bug. I will keep you posted whether it returns or not. You can count this ticket as solved and closed!

PowerStore3 menus have been redeemed!
