PHP Safe Mode

I have been asked by the owner of a site to build a simple news application for them. I have tested their site, and PHP is running in safe mode, with no option for turning it off.

I have determined that I need to setup the following for this application to run.

1: Security Assist: to setup a basic login system for admin use only.
2: DataAssist to manage two tables, which will be related.
3: HTML editor, not so much to manage files or images, just to give the user the ability to add a link or two easily.
4: UE4, not for email - but to upload a single image file using digital file pro for each news item.
5: Framework Builder - Not 100% necessary, but I prefer to build admin areas and apps with plugins.

Is there any immediate concerns in trying this with PHP's Safe Mode turned on. Or should I just tell the user they need to switch hosting company's.

security assist and data assist should not have an issue on a php server running safe made, but I believe you will have an issue with HTML Editor.

You will also run into a problem with file uplaod if you are resizing the image, as well as framework builder.

I'm not 100% sure with html editor or file upload, so feel free to give them a try and see if it works. it should only be a 5 minute experiment to create a couple of test pages.

There were so many different problems going on due to Safe Mode I convinced the client to change hosts. Propagation was fast and now that I don't have the limits of Safe Mode everything works great!

Thanks.
