Known Issue for Universal Email 4: Using Pear Mail for SMTP

There was a bug discovered in Universal Email 4 where PHP errors are generated when using Pear Mail for SMTP. We have created a patch if you are experiencing this.

Log in and visit the Download Center. Click on Universal Email 4; then click on the Known Issues section. Download the related zip file and follow the instructions in the readme file.

Where would I see the PHP error?

you would see the error on the page that Universal Email where applied to when it tries to send the email, but only if error reporting is turned on.

The patch to replace the XML file for PEAR for SMTP -- refers to Windows XP & VISTA operating systems.

Is this patch also required on Windows 7 systems?

yes, it is also needed for windows 7.

the path to use in windows 7 is the same path as in Vista.

i ahve universal email 4 in the dataassist and databridge packages, so am unable to access this fix.....
