Forms problem

I keep getting errors when my form displays. I've asked about this problem before and still haven't got an answer. Here's the first of three errors which occur at the top of the screen:

Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: open(/home/users/web/b2295/ipw.liliesor/public_html/cgi-bin/tmp/sess_2479c40fb3f209c4b5ee6c5e91090e41, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in /hermes/bosweb/web229/b2295/ipw.liliesor/public_html/WA_ValidationToolkit/WAVT_ValidatedForm_PHP.php on line 3

Two more errors occur after this. It think they are caused by the first one. Two other errors show up at the end of the form.

I like your Forms package but am about ready to give it up and try something else.

Dick,

It looks like to me that you, perhaps, have your server setting incorrect in Dreamweaver. Because looking at the error, it references two completely different paths.

Notice that when it tries to open the session file it starts with this: /home/users/web/b2295/

But, it appears its looking for the file using the directory that starts like this: /hermes/bosweb/web229/b2295/

I think is what your seeing is that it is trying to pull from an incorrect location - which is trypically a server setting issue when you setup your site definitions in Dreamweaver.

As a guy who has used Form Builder a great deal, I can confirm that it works as advertised. I will be around all weekend to offer any more assistance if you want to troubleshoot some more. A couple of things you might want to do though, is post a link to where the users on here can see it in action, as well as, post the code from the page here.

Best regards,

Brian

More info needed

Brian' so good to hear your prompt reply.
I'm confused about this. Not sure how the Dreamweaver server settings would cause this but I know you know more than me for sure. If you try ppform2010.php you'd see the full error messages. I've done web work for a number of years but aways pretty much for display stuff. Never looking for people to fill in forms and submitting them by email. I know it's done all the time but it has me befuddled.

Forms and email

And, by the way, the next step for me is to get the Universal Email package working to handle the sending of the form. I had to talk with IPOWER for them to make come corrections in their PHP.INI file, at the recommendation of someone from WebAssist. IPOWER says it will now work. Haven't given it a try yet. More confusion reigns in this regard.

Jason ByrnesWebAssist

the page you sent the link gives a generic error message.

We wont be able to offer much help with the generic error.

Try adding this code to line 1 to show the actual error:

php:
<?php

error_reporting
(E_ALL);
ini_set('display_errors','on');
?>

once we know the error, we will be able to offer more assistance.
