PowerGallery Installation Wizard

Hi,
I insert correct information for server, database, username and password, but I am still getting ERROR: Could not connect to MySQL.

I renamed original folder to "product_gallery" and inside that folder I copied file: wa_evaluate.php.

Is this wrong and do I need to change any code?

thanks

David

are you installing this on your remote server or on your local host?

If installing on your local host, you will need to use your local database credentials, you will not be able to use the remote database.

If you are installing it on the remote server, double check with the host that you are using the correct MySQL server name.

The error "Could not connect to MySQL" means the MySQL server name is wrong, if it where a problem with the user or password, the error would be different.

I am having the same problem. If it's the server name, if I am installing it on abc123etc.com, wouldn't the server name be abc123etc.com? I have tried it as abc123etc.com, www.abc123etc.com and abc123etc.com. What should it be?

No, the MySQL Server name will be different from your domain. Contact your host, they will be able to tell you the correct server name to use to connect to the MySQL Server.
