Quantity discount based on items in single category

Quantity discount based on items in single category

I need to offer a quantity discount for items in a single category. I added a "Category" column to the cart. Then I went to bind the category to the new column.

The problem comes in when I attempt to retrieve the item category by modifying the products recordset (or creating a separate recordset to retrieve the category). Because some of the items are in more than one category, I get all the item's categories, not just the discount category.

Is there a way to solve this?

where the products belong to multiple categories, it is going to problematic to set the discount based on the category.

a simpler approach would be to mark the items as discounted directly in the products table.

you will need to create a discounted column in the products table and set it to 0 for items that should not be discounted and 1 for items that should be discounted.

use this column in the add to cart button instead.
