Selecting multiple items from 1 drop down list

In a previous post showthread.php?t=15460 I had asked about multiple option boxes and had trouble but the trouble was resolved via a code snippet only to create another one issue.

I have a new question.

The option box I need to create needs at the moment, 30 items and this will grow over time.

Is it possible to create one option box with 30-40 items in it and let the user select multiple options from that 1 drop down list to pass to PayPal for an order?

Example:

option 1 (selected)
option 2
option 3 (selected)
option 4
option 5 (selected)
option 6
option 7 (selected)
option 8 (selected)
option 9 (selected)
option 10

"Buy Now"

Previously in adding several drop down boxes each with several items in them choked the server big time (server shut down) and slowed the stores response time while in administration.

being able to select the different options from a list will require a lot of customization to the options add page and to the detail page.

You could accomplish this by using simple options because they won't require a lot of processing time to load, however, since you want the user to select from different options, i recommend using the Conditional options and letting the user type the options in an input field, listing the different options in the Long or Short Description of the product.

Thanks Dani, I'll give that a try and see if the client buys into it.
