Ecart Design/Concept Issue

This is my first site using eCart(5) and I'm not sure how to handle something I was hoping to get some help or guidance with.

I have a site for a photographer, we are going to be selling his images, however each image will have about 20 different prices for it, for size and paper/canvas type etc.. All of the images are in a MySQL Database with a unique image id number.

My thought was that when viewing an image, they click on the details page (or the image itself), and on the Details page a link to another page that would have all of the purchase options. Perhaps in a drop down menu or a radio button.

I am not against having the bottom half of the details page for the purchase options to sit either.

Can someone offer some advice or point me to a tutorial that would enlighten me?

Thank you.

Gary

see the "Product Options with eCart" tutorial on the eCart support page:
ecart/

this will go through simple product options (Do not effect price) and complex product options (Effects price).

Gary,

I have done a couple of photography sites and ended up laying out the options like these examples image.php?name=camels-on-cable-beach&id=110 or print.php?id=77

There is a brief overview on the method's used on these sites in this thread showpost.php?p=13485&postcount=13

Hope that helps.

Thanks for both or your responses and sorry for the delay.

Jason, I was working my way through the tutorials, I had not found the one that addresses my issue (yet).

Dave, thank you for the links, I should be able to muddle through.

Thanks again

Gary, in case you're still looking for ideas, like Dave, I have done an artists/photography site in the past.

The link features a purely example site with the aim of attracting artists/photographers to sell their work online - (it hasn't worked yet, which may be telling) !!

this one features image galleries with a lookup recordset within the repeat region, in order to show (potentially) different size options and prices available for each image, and a lightbox popup.

maybe it will give you some ideas, even if only where you dont want to go.
