Trouble with form

My form is located here: contact100.php

I can't figure out how to get rid of the required validation for the State, Resume Upload, Best day and Best Times.

Also, I have tried to add radio buttons to the form but the only option I have seen is to add a Radio Group and inside that you can add fields, but I never get buttons, nor do I see an option to add buttons. I have searched your site for documentation and sad to say it's woefully inadequate. I can add them with hand coding thru dreamweaver, but the way you do your form is not familiar to me and I keep messing it up rather than getting the buttons I want. Can someone please help with these two issues???? Also, is there a way to change the amount of letters in the captcha? Oh... sorry, one more thing, I have looked around for some explanation as to how I can add form validation too so only certain file types will be accepted, but haven't been able to find that either... sorry to be such a pain. I've spent 3 days trying to get this one form done....

some progress

I've made some progress on this form, but am still trying to figure out how to get rid of the required on the Best Days, Best Times and State. All the other elements have a box you can check or uncheck to set whether it's a required element or not, but I don't see one for any of these three. I have used Universal eMail to set up the mail aspects of this form, and it has the ability to designate web image as the file type, but no others. Is there some way to allow only txt, pdf, doc, docx or rft as the file types that can be uploaded in the file upload field?

thanks for you help!

You can do both of these things with CSS Form Builder installed. Does this page submit to itself or another page? You will need to open the page that this form submits to in order to alter the server validations.

When you open the page go to the server behaviors and look for the server validations. Edit this entry and you can identify the validations that you do not need and remove them. You can then add in a new validation for the file field, for the type of validation you should choose 'file extension' and list the allowed file extensions.

This will result in removing the unneeded validations and applying the file extension type validation to your file field. Make sure that you make a backup of the page before you edit it incase you have any troubles.

radio buttons

I have seen where you're talking about with the server actions, but I'm concerned that if I make those changes, then have to go back into edit mode for the form, the changes will be undone. So before I do that, could you tell me why I do not have radio buttons? I have selected radio group, and three fields inside that, but don't get buttons. I don't see anywhere to add just radio buttons, only a radio group and then add fields to that, but when I follow that procedure, I get the text I assign to the fields, but no actual buttons. I did modify the design and set colors for initial, focus, valid and invalid thinking that would resolve the issue, but still not buttons. Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks!

sunyata strums

And yes, this form submits to itself... sorry I forgot to answer that earlier.

Sorry about not addressing the issue with the radio buttons earlier. I have done some testing on my machine and I'm getting a result like you are describing so I have opened a ticket for you on this issue. To check the status of the ticket or update it login and visit your support history.

Thanks!

Thanks Ray for helping me with these issues. FYI, the Best Times and Best Days also shows as a required field even when you remove the validation in the program just like the State field did. I have successfully removed those manually, although they did generate a server side behavior as well as a client side unlike the state which only created a client side.

Again, thanks!
Becky
