Blank Email, and Customizing Contact Form

Blank Email, and Customizing Contact Form

I have read all of the related threads on blank emails, and tried all of the ideas. I made a form with Form Builder, then added Universal Email. I receive the email message and subject line, but no body, which should be coming from the comments section of the form.

An additional problem that I have is changing the Contact Form to fit my Dreamweaver Template. All other WA extensions have fit inside my template, but Form Builder does not.

You can see my email page attached to my template and related code at contactform.php

Thanks. Your help is appreciated.

It looks like you could split the captcha and security question up so that it is on two lines instead of one.

For the email body being blank how have you configured the message body? Post back with a copy of the page in question as well as a copy of your webassist > email folder from your site in a zip archive so that I can take a look.

Blank Email with Universal Email 4

Eric,

Thanks for you reply. Attached are my email form and supporting files. I would greatly appreciate your help.

Regarding your suggestion to split up the two fields into separate rows, so that the form will fit my template, I will try this again. I tried previously with no success.

Best regards.

Contact Form

I am utterly frustrated - bought all these extensions from you and have no idea where I should even save them when I'm trying to use them. Like, am I supposed to save them in a folder under my root directory, or save individual files in the root directory? or what? I feel like I've paid a lot of money for something I can only drool over but not use because your instructions don't start at the beginning for a real dummy like me. Can someone help me please??? If someone could just help me get through the Contact Form, I think I could probably understand how to work with your products in the future.

Changing the simple contact email form to fit my template

Eric,

I took your suggestion and moved the right hand field to the bottom. It seems to work. All I need now is to solve the blank email problem.

Regards.

I have looked at your email files and I can confirm that there is nothing specified in the body for the message. You should edit the UE server behavior on the page and specify to edit the page in DW. This will allow you to craft the body of your message to ge whatever you would like it to be. To get the data from your form on the page go to Bindings > Form Data and select the form page. You can then drag and drop the values directly onto your page where you would like to see them.

To andrea, have you read and followed along with the read_me.htm for the contact form sp? What step are you having trouble with? Really it should be a matter of updating a couple files and uploading them to your server to get them to work. Please post back with any questions that you have in a new thread to avoid any confusion in the current thread.

Successful Email Form.

Thanks for your instruction. I clicked on the DW icon for the body of the contact form, and found the field to drag the bindings to, which I had missed before. Works like a charm now. The body of the form from the comment section now appears in my emails.
