PowerGallery does not display on Wordpress post

PowerGallery does not display on Wordpress post

I am trying to display a PowerGallery gallery in a Wordpress post. I have installed the Exec-PHP plugin for Wordpress so that I can include PHP code in a post. What displays is the text "no images" so the PHP code is running. It must be a path issue, but I can't figure it out.

Link to the post (which has a link to the gallery displayed on a non-Wordpress page):

I have looked into this a bit and don't see a good reason for it displaying on one part of the site but not this other part of the site. To help debug the issue you will need to open the galleries > grid_lightbox > index.php file and add this code in just after line 42:

php:
<?php

print("the first fullsize URL is: " $gallery['images'][0]['fullsize']['url'] . "<br/><br/>the php_self is " $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']);
?>

This will print out the full size image URL as well as the php_self setting on both places where the gallery code has been placed. We should then be able to compare the values on the one that is working versus the one that is not working to see what the difference is. Please give this a try and let us know when you have added the code so that we can take a look.

I added that code to both pages. The results are different:

WEBSITE PAGE
paris-balzar/
TESTING CODE the first fullsize URL is: balzar01_800p.jpg

the php_self is /powergallery/fakey.php

WORDPRESS PAGE
php-code-test/
TESTING CODE

the first fullsize URL is:

the php_self is fakey.php

Are your blog pages hosted locally? The fact that you cannot get the URL to display seems to be the same reason that you can't get the images to display. If you have the blog locally in your site then it seems like there is something that the wordpress pages are doing to suppress URL's from scripts. I'm not sure what this setting would be in your current wordpress setup but you will need to be able to see the values like this URL in order to be able to see the images since all the values come from the same array.

The blog is hosted locally - I run the wordpress software on my server. It does seem like Wordpress is stripping out something.

Has anyone been able to get PowerGallery to work from within a Wordpress post? It would be nice to be able to use PowerGallery within Wordpress.

It does seem that WordPress is stripping out some needed info on the page. I'm not familiar enough with WordPress to know exactly what the setting or settings are but you will need to be able to get the same type of result that you have on your other page in order for the gallery to work on a given page.

Over the weekend, I installed the Hana Code Insert wordpress plugin and that worked for me when integrating PowerGallery. Check it out at hana-code-insert/. Basically, you can just define Hana code snippets and mark them as PHP, then you can integrate it into a post or page on your wordpress site.

It still does not work for me. I am trying it on a new blog. I installed Hana Code and can get a simple PHP stmt to work. But no images show with the PowerGallery code.

Here is a thread on the Wordpress.org forums where someone was able to use PowerGallery in Wordpress.

It has to be something in the way I have configured Wordpress - I did a new install of both WP and PowerGallery on a new domain, but still it does not work.

I installed PowerGallery and Wordpress on a different web host and it works. PowerGallery code executes from within a Wordpress page (with plugin Hana Code installed to make Wordpress execute PHP code). So the problem is specific to my web host (Media Temple) and I will talk to them to figure this out.

This problem is resolved - thanks for your help.
