Coupon Problem

Coupon Problem

This store seems to be operating fine on a test server, and it uses a PayPal sandbox without a problem to make test purchases. This issue is that I am trying to add a new coupon for the first time to test this feature of the store.

I am getting a "No Input File Specified" message on a separate page when attempting to "insert" a coupon WHEN the choose products box is checked. This is true regardless of whether I "require" the code or not. The rest of the form seems to be filled out properly.

This separate page has the following at the end of the url in the address bar: ".../Admin/products_Search.php?InProcess=AddToCoupon&CouponID=3".

If the above box is not checked, everything seems fine. I see the coupon detail for the given coupon created, and the new coupon is added to the list as it should.

What is interesting to me is that the coupon is still being created regardless of the above "No Input File Specified" message. I see the coupon when I view the coupons and sales list.

Now, as you would expect, the above coupons are for "all" products. When I attempt to update a given coupon by clicking "Edit products" on the coupon detail page, I get the same "No Input File Specified" message with the same kind of ending to the url as noted above.

So, I seem to be able to create coupons, but cannot attach them to specific products, just the default "all" products.

Any ideas about what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks,
Robert

You are not doing anything wrong, the problem is that the page in the code is specified with a lowercase 'p'. The actually page name has a capital 'P', so the fix is to update the coupon_insert page so that it goes to the page with the correct name. The line of code this is set on is 41 on the coupons_insert.php page. I'm including an updated copy of the page for you so that you don't have to get into the code yourself.

That helped but there still is a problem, maybe more than one.

After swapping out and uploading the new file, I was able to create a coupon and then go through the motions of adding the coupon to a specific product (that's the good news), but the coupon got applied to all products anyway (not so good).

That is, after adding a couple of products to the shopping cart, only one of which should receive the coupon discount, the discount was applied to both products after entering the coupon code. This is consistent with the coupon details page which says that "all" products are included, instead of the lone product I attempted to connect to the coupon.

Secondly, when I try to edit the coupon itself to make it product specific, I still get the original "No input file specified" message on a new page. So, this result is the same as before the file swap.

This feels like a bug, but maybe not if no one else is seeing this result. Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Robert

There was another lower case "p" that needed to be capitalized. Ray solved that problem. Ray also made another edit to one of the coupon pages. Now coupons can be applied to individual products, and not just all products. This appeared to be a bug. Hopefully, a fix will be posted for general use.

Thanks Ray and Eric!
