Info not filling in

Hello Webassist Gurus,

After many failed attempts to add a remember me feature using the Security Assist wizard (I encountered log in problems when including this feature) I decided to leave that unchecked in the wizard. The generated pages (with password encryption) work great. I followed the Cookies solution recipe for adding the remember me feature. The log in still works, but checking the remember me checkbox doesn't do anything. When one goes back to the login.php page, the fields are not filled in.

I have attached the file for review.

Thanks in advance.

I can see a couple of things that you will need to do to get it working. The first thing you need to do is set a value for the remember checkbox. You will need to add in a value="the value" attribute to this form field. Once you do that you should then be triggering the store cookie server behaviors that check to see if this value was posted.

Next you will need to set the default value of the username and password fields to come from the cookies for them.

The final part is the order of the code, you will need to have the cookies that you have on lines 23-35 to be above the code that starts on line 4. With these three updates the remember me option should be working correctly.

Thanks for the reply, Eric. I appreciate it. Yea, after I posted this I finally took a breather from working and went run some errands. While out it hit me that I hadn't set a value for the checkbox...haha The order of the code would have taken me a while though. Thanks for the tips. I'll try them and get back with you.

That did the trick. Thanks again, Eric!

Glad to hear it, sometimes taking a moment away from the code is just what you need to help you get a little perspective on the problem. It seems the longer and more intensely I focus on an issue the more frustrating it becomes and often taking a moment to get away from the problem can help to clear things up. Let us know if you have any other questions or if you run into any other issues.
