Waue

Whenever I wish to edit an html "results" page with WAUE and "edit" the page in DW I have to "detach from template" before I can edit.
I do not have any templates set up, I deleted all the "template Stuff" from the page. I then can edit the page. Save, everything Ok. If I reopen the page to re-edit in DW I get the "Template:Waue html body" tag.
I then have to detach from template again.
How can I get rid if this template that I never wanted, and why does it reappear all the time.
Frustrated regards
David

You should be able to edit Universal Email on any page that it is applied to regardless of weather or not a template is applied to the page. The server side code that UE produces will be above the top html on the page so it should have no effect on any template part of the page.

In UE4 if you choose to edit the contents of the message from within the interface you will be making edits to a templated page with editable regions in it. What is the process you are going through to add and edit the emails and what is the file that you have to detach from the template?

Ue

I use UE regularly, It seems to be a problem now that I have upgraded to 4.01 from 4.0
I open UE and click to edit the page in dreamweaver.
There is only 1 page that I have to detach from template to edit, if I dont I just get a "circle" with a line thru it and I cant edit anything on the page until I detach from template.
I have trashed the maccachefile (I seem to have to do this a lot) but no difference. I have deleted WAUE 4.01 and reinstalled the extension.
I have not yet tried going back to 4.0, perhaps the only option.
I have added a screen shot of the error. I can edit if I "Detach from template" In DW menu "modify" Then Templates, then I can edit.
This now happens evert time I open and edit a UE in DW html

When I give this a try with the 4.0.1 release I'm able to edit the message without issue. I did notice that the way the template was applied to this page seems different than in 4.0.0 but it did not prevent me from making any changes to the content page.

I have opened a ticket for you on this issue so that it can be looked into further. To update your ticket or check on it's status login and visit your support history.
