UE Server Behavior Gone

I built a nice complicated email to send using UE. I went back in to make a couple minor changes and the server behavior is GONE. PHP code for UE is still in the source and the webassist/email/waue_xxxxxxxxxx_1.php file is still out there. Can I get the server behavior back or must I start over??!!

I copied code from a similar page and got the server behavior back but I'm missing something because the email doesn't trigger. I'll try find what I'm still missing but may have to give up and start over. How did it go away?

I just did a test and see how easy it is to delete a server behavior. I probably deleted it myself by mistake since it doesn't even require a confirmation to make it go away. Yikes. I just did the work over so no need to figure out how to make it come back from similar code in another page.

It sounds like you are saying that you got it worked out. As you noted you can delete a server behavior on the page through the server behaviors panel without any confirmation. Also, you can cause a server behavior to no longer show in the panel if you modify any part of the code for it on the page. The server behavior will be recognized with the default code it creates, but not with modified code. It is always a good idea to make a backup of any working page before making any changes in case you need to go back.

Yes - resolved.

I just started over and will be more careful. Thanks.

I've noticed that some behaviors will disappear from them panel, and others will show the red red exclamation mark if code is modified.

I've also learned to be very careful with UE 3 and 4 when using the DW button to create or edit the email content. This is such an useful feature, especially when posting dynamic data into the email body, but it can be finicky.

First of all, say you're on the page that you're applying UE and that page has a recordset or more. When you click the DW button to edit, the wizard will go away and the editing page will display. This page will also show the record sets but with the exclamation mark. It's tempting to double click those and "fix" them, but doing so will mess things up.

Second, when you're finished editing, you must press control-S which will make the temp page go away and the wizard reappear. If you attempt to close that page, it will ask if you want to save it, and you say yes. BUT this does not bring up the wizard again. The waue file is a temp file only, and should not remain in the file structure. It sounds like that's what happened.

When you do it the correct way - control - s, it actually copies the code to the original file, or the helper file if you've selected to have one.
