PowerStore3 setup (newbie ques.)

re: PowerStore3 setup

in Step 2 is the 'Server / Host Name' to be the website such as 'http://www.mywebsiteroot.com' or www.mystoresite.com or the ftp.mywebsiteroot.com.

I'm getting the error "ERROR: Could not connect to the MySQL database. Please verify the server, username, and password are correct."

The username and password is the same that I use for the 'C Panel' login.
I've created a new mysql database and user.

Thanks...

Are you installing this on your live server? If so you will need to put in the host location of the MySQL server. If it is local to your live server then you would enter localhost for the value. If it is not then should be an area of your control panel where you can check on the access settings for your MySQL.

Thanks.
localhost it is.
However, I've got an error message now telling me that I need 'View - Create' permission.
I double checked my database user settings and it shows that I have set permissions to 'all'.

Please advise.

There is a fix for this in the known issues section for the PowerStore 3 download page. Login to your account on webassist.com and visit your download center. When you click on PowerStore 3 expand the known issues section, look for this one:

PowerStore 3: Support Fix - Create View Restriction Preventing Install (29 Kb)

Follow the instructions in the read me file to implement the update.

I'm glad to hear that. You should check out some of the other known issues fixes that are available to see if they would help or be needed for what you are doing. These fixes are best implemented before you get to far into your stores development. Let us know if you have any other questions or if you experience any problems.
