changing the layout of public format

changing the layout of public format

It looks like I can add data fields in the administrative layout, but perhaps not so easily in the public layout (using the wizard). Am I missing something? How can I add and delete data fields in the public layout? I do not want a store format...no prices, etc. Thanks.

the wireframe components of the public layout are set, but the data fields used for those components can be whatever you wish.

If you clear the value for a component of the wireframe, that component will be created by the wizard.

Maximinizing the amount of data displayed in public layout

Thanks for your reply. I have two followup questions.

(1) Is there any way to combine data fields in the public layout. In the long item description (in users_Detail), for example, I would like to include several data fields. You say that I must conform to the format provided. But could I somehow combine several data fields, each in a paragraph, within the long item description? Otherwise, it seems that I am quite limited in what information that I can convey with the public format.

Is there any tutorial on the public layout like the one that you have on the administrative layout. I can't seem to find one, and the functionality of the two options is fairly different.

you cannot change the data that is presented in the public layout using the wizard, you will need to change this on the results page after it is created. you can add any additional columns you like to the long item description after the pages are created by the wizard.
