Tracking Items Sold

Thread began 7/14/2010 8:18 am by Bknvc1111729 | Last modified 7/16/2010 12:33 am by Bknvc1111729 | 649 views | 2 replies |

Tracking Items Sold

I am trying to keep track of how many of each item is sold off the website. The following is what I have attempted already.

I have already setup a column in my "items" table to track this called "InventorySold".

I tried to use DataAssist update single record in the confirm page but it did not update.

I tried the same thing on the checkout_success before the page loads but it did not work either.

Any ideas on what I might have done wrong or suggestions on the correct way to do this?

What you can try is to use the Store order details server behavior which will store the information about the order on the database. Then you would have queries to count how many of each product is sold:

Than you for that tip. I never thought of that approach. Worked great. Now I can track how many items I have sold and it also helped me make a simple inventory control for when I want to limit how many items I have to sell and not worry about over selling the item.
