exart5 and Powerstore 3

Hi,

I have created my online store using powerstore 3. My website is www.minime-baby.com The cart integrated in Powerstore3 is pretty neat though some other functionalities are needed. I read and found out that ecart5 is the best solution for a complete customizable cart. I need to know step by step how do I incorporate ecart5 into my already exising website (created with powerstore 3)?

Pleaase let me know asap.

Regards

The cart made for PowerStore was based on the code generated by eCart, so you can make modifications to the cart and checkout process using eCart. Some modifications that you can make to the PowerStore 3 files using eCart may cause some of the built in functionality of PowerStore 3 to not function correctly. That being said, what kind of functionality are you looking to modify or add?

Hi Jimmy and thank you for the reply.

Basically, I need to change shipping options to my local canadian shipping company, taxes needs to be changed as well (having a federal tax and provincial tax, and US tax) depending on my customers where they are from). And last, the payment method (other than Paypal and the rest of the methods Powerstore offers). I want to be able to have Credit Card payment method. These are the main features and there are some other little details I need as well.

Now that you mention, I need to know (I am not a PHP programmer at all) what, how, and where do I need to make modification so that Powerstore will not be affected and non functional (at least if you can guide me for the shipping, taxes, and payment method).

Also, I wanted, initially, to know how do I install ecart in a way that it will be connected to my existing powerstore online store.

Hope to hear from you soon.

To edit shipping, you would have to open the eCart object and go to the shipping tab to change the shipping rules.

Using Paypal Payments Pro or Authorize.net will allow you to have credit card payments, it is just processed through a payment gateway.

To change the payment gateway, you would want to remove the checkout pages (checkout, confirm, success, failure, pp_confirm, pp_success, pp_failure) and apply the eCart wizard to the cart page.

Changing these and having it work with PowerStore will require some custom coding, which is not supported, so you would have to implement the changes on your own after what I've instructed.

By using the eCart object that is already generated for PowerStore to generate the pages, the PowerStore and eCart checkout pages will be linked.
