Links in DWC with dynamic data?

How do I go about making the datapoints into clickable links? When the data is static, the wizard provides an field for this, but I can't figure out how to make it dynamic...

Edit the data xml file by hand to add dynamic features to the link.

Any chance of more of a hint than that? Are we talking about wa_dfc_xml.php or the *_data.php file?
