Payment Gateway Issues UK

Hi

I have built a shop for a client selling pens, they applied for a merchant account with Paypal (Paypal Payments Pro) and for some reason it was declined. Paypal will not tell us what the issue is and all they will say is that we can reapply in 90 days, but we can't fix the issue as we don't know what it is.

I looked at Authorize.net but we are based in the UK so that doesn't work so we are a little stuck. I have contacted First data who did not appear to know what I was talking about and told me I needed to contact Lloyds TSB or the Royal Bank of Scotland so I did and they did not seem to be able to help much either, why is this so difficult we are only selling pens.

We need to take payments on site as this is a nice looking site that weeks have work has been done on but we don't seem to have any options.

Does anyone have a simple explanation as to how we go about setting up an account with Link Point (First Data) as they don't seem to know themselves or another solution to this nightmare situation.

Your help would be much appreciated as we really can't redo the work we have done at this point, it really has taken us weeks.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Gary

Gary,

why not use PayPal Website Payments Standard rather than Pro in the meantime or alternatively look at SagePay www.sagepay.com/
