error when filtering chart by session user id

hi,

i have amended my recordset on my dynamic chart to filter by userid to only show commission for that user, however i get this error:

DynamicWebCharts/Data/commission_dataparser1_user.php?GET=§accesscheck=/commission_user.php?

this is my recordset:

SELECT MonthPaid AS XLABEL, SUM(Amount) AS YVALUE, clients.ClientUserID, users.UserID
FROM monthlycommission JOIN clients on monthlycommission.ClientID = clients.ClientID JOIN users on clients.ClientUserID = users.UserID
WHERE YearPaid= NOW( ) AND clients.ClientUserID = paramUser
GROUP BY MonthPaid
ORDER BY DatePaid

can anyone help?

thanks

is it possible to filter by Session 'UserID' with dynamic web charts?

thanks for any pointers.

What is the result that you get when you have this query without the session variable filtering? So long as the recordset contains valid information you should be able to filter it like this without issue. You should try to remove the filtering to see if you get a valid result. Also, have you tried to execute this query on your db to ensure that it is properly crafted and not giving you any errors?

hi eric,

yes the chart and query works without the WHERE session UserID as i have that on an admin page.

when i test this it works fine on the database no errors at all.

the only error i get is on the live page:
DynamicWebCharts/Data/commission_dataparser1_user.php?GET=§accesscheck=/commission_user.php?

thanks again

i have deleted the chart and re ran the wizard and chose a different table.

then went into the data.php file within dynamic charts and added the recordset manually and it seems to have worked now doing that.

strange.

i now have a further issue eric, on the main site one of my graphs displays the companies who have had the most cases. this works on the main site. on the indivdual comanies sub domain site it shows nothing on the chart yet below in the table it shows the data no problem.

it is 2 seperate databases they are accessing and all the other graphs on theis sub domnain work except this one.

is there any common trouble shooting i could take to find why this has happened?

i have went in and checked the connections are ok in the connections folder and they are and all other charts are fine just this one page?? i opened up the recordset and clicked test and it is fine.

if there is more data on their chart will dynamic charts auto resize it to fit in to the graph all the data?

thanks again

i have tried re creating the graph but i am getting numbers along the bottom which do not make sense at all.

67-81 along bottom.

really strange why this one sub domain it wont work.

can you jump onto a screen share so i can show the 2 sites as there is no difference in the pages?

thanks

Would it be possible for you to post back with the page and supporting files in question as well as a copy of the db's so that I can test it out locally? If not I can open a ticket for you so we can look into this further.

hi eric, i have tested this a number of times, i thought it was the recordset but as mentioned it works on other sub domains so i tested it by adding 12 records as some only had 2-5 where as the one which never displayed shows nothing.

anyway basically as soon as i add more records to it the chart is not auto resizing to fit the details onto the graph.

should it?

i have sent you the pages for the graph now via support ticket and hope you can look into why it will not display when more records are added to the database.

thanks again

hi eric,

i sent you the code generated by dynamic charts.

i have tested and it seems that it will not auto resize the graph once there is 7 or more records.

the thing is that the names are lenghty so i think that is what is knocking it out after a certain amount, is there a way to get the code to auto resize the graph to fit all the names from the database?

thanks again

The data in the graph should be what determines the scale of what you see. What exactly are you seeing when there are more than the 7 records? Do you have a screen shots or links? I will look to see if I can find your ticket that you have added the info to. If it is a ticket that was closed or resolved it might cause some problems to have it be continually updated. If we need it another ticket should be opened for any new issue. Please post back with what you can here in the forum and if a ticket needs to be opened up I can do that for you.
