FB form inside a Popup Layer

FB form inside a Popup Layer

I have a FB form inside a popup layer at, www.bwprog.com, Menu 'Contact'. The form pops up correctly, all is well, except, I need the popup layer to close when the, Contact me, button is clicked. I have tried the 2 JScript solutions offered by, DMXzone's Advanced Layer Popup. They work by attaching a close layer/window command to the, contact me button.
I think neither works correctly because the focus needs to be in the validation code of the Form.
FB Form w/o ALP: contact
What I hope I can understand from Web Assist, is where in the Form code can I attach a
close command that:
1. enables the, contact me button
2. allows the data entered in the form to be sent.
The version of JS on the form on my web site is 'parent' from DMXzone.
It looks/acts correctly, but no data entered in the FB form is sent.
Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance! BW

The forms that Form Builder creates are use client side js to perform the spry validations but other than this it makes use of server side validations. In order for the form to work correctly you will need to submit the form. There is usually a redirect that will occur after the server side processing to send you to a new page.

I'm not familiar with the tools and js version that you are working with to achieve this result. If the layer you are working with is a stand alone page you could redirect it to another page that just has some js on it that does a window.close when the page loads.

Thanks for the reply!
Re: There is usually a redirect that will occur after the server side processing to send you to a new page.

How can I tell what that new page is, or change it, or attach some JS to it to close it??

The FB Form is a separate page: contact

What I have not been able to figure, is once the, contact me, button is clicked,
The APL with the FB Form closes, but then a new APL layer opens, same size as the APL layer with the FB Form, with my index page in it.
It stays open until is is manually closed or the timer on the APL layer times out.

The way that the server side redirect works is to listed for the page being submitted, then do the processing and finally go to the page specified. It sounds like it it going to your index page. The server side code does not know of or care about the state of the page, so even though it is in a popup layer, the redirect will still occur within this open window.

What I was suggesting here is that you set this redirect page to a special page that you have crafted that just has the js on it that will close the window. This would give you the effect of having the window popup, then after the form was submitted and the server side processing is completed the redirect would occur. If the only thing on this page was some js to close the window you would just see it disappear after the user submits the form.
