OrderDetails do not save to database

OrderDetails do not save to database

ECart 5, Dreamweaver CS4.

When I place an order, the Orders table updates and saves the data, but the OrderDetails table does not add a new record.

I have two web sites using Ecart, and one works, but the other doesn't.

I compared the tables in the two sites and they are identical.

Where should I look for troubleshooting this problem or does someone have a quick answer?

There are 2 eCart server behaviors, (one for each) usually on the confirm.php page, which save the order details in the 2 relevant tables.

Ensure your page has both server behaviors activated.

(eCart Store Summary in Database)
(eCart Store Details in Database)

OrderDetails do not save to database

Both behaviors are there.

I forgot to mention that the first time I tried it, it worked (ie. it saved both the Orders and OrderDetail records). But since then it refuses to add a record in the OrderDetails table.

The store order details makes use of the order number session variable that is created in the store order summary server behavior. If you are testing consecutive transactions the additional transactions will have the same order number so it will just update the order rather than create a new one. For a new order to be created you should clear the session after yours transaction, this would force a new session to be started for the additional orders and make new unique records for those.

You can do this on your checkout success page with some code like this at the bottom of the page:

php:
<?php

if (!session_id()) session_start();
unset(
$_SESSION);
session_destroy();
?>

OrderDetails do not save to database

The program is creating and saving the new Orders record. It just isn't creating and saving the OrderDetails record. So new orders (name, address, total, etc.) are being saved with each session, but the details (ProductID, quantity, etc.) are not.

So the session is ending and a new one is started when I enter a new order, but it is incomplete.

Any other suggestions?

new error message

I just tried to add an order again and this time I got the following error message when I click on the Submit button on the pp_confirm.PHP page.

Warning: mail() [function.mail]: SMTP server response: 550 <fchbmh@hotmail.com> No such user here in D:\Domains\batterypouch.com\wwwroot\WA_Universal_Email\mail_PHP.php on line 260
Duplicate entry '0' for key 1

What does this mean and how do I fix it? Also, I checked the database, and it created an Order record for this transaction, but not the OrderDetails record! So this may be the root of the problem.

The error you are getting rite now is coming from your mail server directly, the line of code mentioned is the line that makes the call to the mail server, since this is what your mail server is responding with you should contact your host or mail server admin to determine why you are getting this error.

Please post back with the page that has the store order details that is not working and I will take a look.
