Showing Option Names on Checkout Page

I have managed to get options working on test site I am working on, but when the item is added to cart it shows the option id rather than the option name in the trolley (view cart page). I have tried lots of different things to fix it but cannot find a way to get it to show the option name instead of a number. If I change the select menu to post the name not the id of the option then it works but the price increment doesn't.

I set the option up using a modified version of your support article;

product_options.php

The issue could be in step 7, when I update the Bindings for the default value it added code to the select menu so I removed the default binding.

when working with options that effect price, the key's are:

do not set the option in the add to cart button to make the option column update able from a select list, leve that option unchecked and create the select list for the option manually rather than having eCart create.

You need to create a lookup recordset that will filter the options column to lookup the option name and the option price.

In the add to cart behavior, bind the option column to the option name from the recordset.
