This thing is full of JavaScript errors

This thing is full of JavaScript errors

I deleted the WinCache.dat file as instructed by some of the posts here. If anything, it has gotten worse. I select Create New CSS Sculptor and the panel opens. I select Customize CSS and start clicking through the tabs. Each time I change tabs, I get a JavaScript error. Every time I click Apply to update the preview, I get a JavaScript error.

I'll give it another try after dinner .. if it doesn't improve in the next day or two, what is the procedure for getting my money back?

The demos looked promising and like it could really speed up the process. The reality is a nightmare.

Disgusted,
Nancy

Please post the exact text of the javascript error you are getting.

It would also help to have some information about your environment:

I posted this early on in the experience. I got a bit more success after that point. I get JavaScript errors when I try to work with any kind of a Spry component and I had some others. I will copy down the errors and get back to you.

I am using Win XP SP3 with Dreamweaver CS5.

Ok, to be able to offer any assistance on the problem, I need to know the exact text of the error messages.

This is an error occurring when the preview is being generated.

What Product are you using when this error occurs?

My Guess is that you are using either DataAssist or Security Assist and selecting to use a template that has a spry scripting error in it.

can you send a copy of the template so I can examine the code?

I don't use Data Assist or Security Assist. I don't use any templates. I am trying to make a new html page to test out CSS Sculptor. It was my understanding that you create the design and at the end save it as a Dreamweaver template (dwt) or even an html page.

There is no code because the ensuing page was so full of errors that I didn't save it. I think this is possibly the problem. One adds the Spry item using the + sign in the CSS Sculptor interface, but at this point, there is no page saved .. so probably the Spry include files don't have a chance to be included. That's just my theory but it makes sense since it is a Spry is not defined error.

Why does CSS Sculptor not have you save the page first? I found that interesting.

Thanks,
Nancy

Nancy! I have got the exact same problem! Jason, please take this problem public and not in private since I guess there's a lot of people out there having this problem!?

Me too thought the CSS sculpture extension looked promising but it really needs to be looked over and rebuilt from scratch! As it is now its almost more hazzle than help for someone who does know CSS but needs to create layouts faster. For someone who does not know anything about code it must be a nightmare!?

Ive got it to work by disable the preview under webassist preferences in dreamweaver but that is not how its supposed to be? The preview works in my other extensions without java script errors. Turning it on and off when changing extensions is not very convenient!

I will follow the threads carefully what happens in the process of solving this issue!

Regards,
Martin J.
