Blue Sky Music

Need a little direction. I am working on the Blue Sky Music store using the physical goods database. I have access to the WebAssist Extension Library. I want the categories dynamically listed in the navigation side area. Once clicked the ItemCatID is passed to the items results page. It should only list the items of the relevant passed ItemCatID.

<div class="SAW_SideNav1_Bevel">
<ul>
<li><a href="items_Results.php?ItemCatID=<?php echo(rawurlencode($row_rsCategories['ItemCatID'])); ?>"><?php echo $row_rsCategories['ItemCatName']; ?></a></li>
</ul>
</div>

<?php } while ($row_rsCategories = mysql_fetch_assoc($rsCategories)); ?>

I have created a recordset from the Itemcategory table for the products page, done a repeat region and added the line code to pass the ItemCatID. But I am unsure what to do next. Do I have to do an inner join of the Itemcategory and Items tables to cross reference the passed ItemCatID on the items_results page ? What specific tool in datassist would allow me to do the correct code to correctly list the products in the items_results page with the past ItemCatID?

make sure the recordset is set to filter the ItemCatID column on the ItemCatID URL parameter.

Once the record set is created, you just need to add the display to the results page.

Add a table with one row, and two columns (you can choose to add more columns if you wish to display more than name and price).

from the bindings panel, select the Item Name binding from the recordset and add it to the first cell of the table, add the item price to the second cell of the table.

Now in the tag selector, select the <tr> tag then in the server behaviors panel click the plus button and select Repeat Region, set it use all records.

Jason,

Thank you - that worked.

If I want the itemcategory list to be visible throughout the site in the side navigation area then I should place the recordset in the siteassist_template.dwt.php - correct?
