Map stops working regularly online...

We've been using your maps app on a website that's live

The map on the homepage pulls in all the latest events with a bubble that shows the event title, start & finish times, short description and also a link to the event, problem is it is always breaking, not showing the map at all if someone enters certain characters.

Can you help me to stop this from happening, the map needs to show all the time, it's really difficult to figure out what characters are stopping it, can you help me make sure they cant enter these characters or get them converted when entered into the database.

Any help to stop this would be fantastic.

Thanks
Lee

Do you know of any of these characters that are breaking the map? If you know of any of them, you can set up validation to prevent the characters from being entered if you have validation toolkit or CSS Form Builder.

That's part of the problem, i'm not entirely sure what characters are causing the problem?

I've spent a while looking through the database, this time it looks like the character ' caused the map from stopping.

I pretty much need people to be able to enter whatever they like, is there no way that you can ensure the map works no matter what characters they use?

Where are the characters being added to? Is it the location, date or keyword? Or is it somewhere on the backend where the event is being inserted to the map?

The data is being entered into the database via a custom admin area, this is where the user enters everything for an event from start times to location, on this instance it was the event title that had the character ' within it.

The google map app is pulling custom fields out of the database, i.e. all the location details and the event name and the ID number to link to.

These are all entered into the databases individual fields i.e.

Event_ID
Event_Title
Event_Street
Event_City

etc...

I need to find a way to make the map show regardless of what characters are entered as an event name could effectively be anything!!!

One thing you can do if you have Validation Toolkit or CSS Form Builder is to Apply validation to the form fields on the backend form. You would most likely want to prevent most of the symbols from being input. So anything that's not alphanumeric. There is an alphanumeric validation built in to Validation toolkit and Form Builder.
