Search asking for form field name

Hi,

Everytime i add a search wizard behaviour to my existing results page and choose new form i cannot get past the New Form Field Name for a search criteria.

No matter if i put in all lower case, no spaces, uppercase, single letters etc it pops back with a message saying "please choose a field name", is this a bug and how do i get around this?

thanks

after entering the form field name, use the enter key on the keyboard to force the name to stick before clicking the OK button in the DataAssist Search wizard.

thanks jason, will give it a go.

i am having problems with my data assist search behaviour. i modified the recordset by adding in a where clause as default one created did not have this.

when i test the recordset in dreamweaver it shows the 4 results i expect yet my search and results by data assist is showing all records, i am not sure why it is doing this at all.

any ideas?

really not a clue why this is doing this, i add my recordset to a dynamic table using dreamweavers dynamic table and it displays the results correctly.

data assist just ignores the WHERE clause and i get all the results.

as soon as i add the search to this recordset from data assist it ignores the WHERE clause.

any ideas why this is doing this? This is a VIEW i have created in database as i was told it can search VIEWS as i can produce a recordset from it.

need help??

thanks

I just ran a test with data assist search using a view and I cannot get it to ignore the where clause in the view.

In my experiments DataAssist Search is working fine using a view.

can you send a copy of your page and a screen shot of the create view statement.
